800 pilots of the Finnish airline Finnair are on strike

On Saturday the Finnish Air Line Pilots Association (SLL) rejected a mediation proposal, because they were not happy with the matter of outsorcing personnell on Finnair flights.

"It is not an issue of money or pension age", says Kristian Rintala, President of the Finnish Airline Pilots' Association to YLE news november 17th. Rintala adds Finnair would have started the use of outsourced personnel on its own flights even if the strike had not begun.

Negotiations between Finnair and SLL are expected to resume sometime this week.
